Matt  W.  Dawson

"As the years passed, I came to realize more and more clearly that my true nature is to live adventurously in the widest possible sense.  Once you develop a taste for exploration you inevitably always feel the need to go a little farther.  I have always had an innate desire to know and to understand, satisfied first through mountaineering, later by traveling solo all over the world."

-Walter Bonatti, “The Mountains of my Life” (1905)

Bike Trip

Beginning in mid-October 2015, Matt began a self-supported cycling trip from Utah to Argentina... and back.

The plan is simple:

  • Travel via bike along the Pacific coast of Central and South America to Ushuaia, Argentina (the southern-most city in the world) and then return along the Atlantic coast of South America (approximately 40,000 kilometers total distance).

  • Travel via boat to Antarctica, down the Amazon river (from Manaus to Macapá, Brazil),  and to several islands of the Caribbean.

  • Meet lots of new people, share experiences, and enjoy the journey!
